Whether you are interested in medieval studies because of an encounter with a cathedral or poem, a fascination with the crusades, or even a love of Tolkien or Game of Thrones, the Medieval Studies Institute offers many opportunities to cultivate your curiosity about and understanding of the past, both in and inside of the classroom.
Our institute offers an interdisciplinary and global set of courses each semester, and students can pursue an undergraduate minor (15 hours) or certificate (24 hours) to be completed from the wide range of medieval courses available. Both the minor and the certificate enable students to take courses in various departments so that they can experience a variety of approaches and topics while expanding their knowledge of the Middle Ages.
