Research areas of the Medieval Studies Institute are presented in faculty interests, through events, and in publications. Browse our faculty page for their areas of interest and our collection of journals to see how faculty are integrating their foci into publications.
Our students and faculty can participate in Mediaevalia at the Lilly Library, which aims to educate students beyond text in books by examining the material aspects of books from the Late Antiquity to the Reformation period. Our annual spring symposium, organized by our Graduate Student Advisory Committee, welcomes speakers from Indiana University and other prestigious universities across the country to discuss various areas relating to medieval studies, including orality, gender, and symbolism, and more.
