Jane Bosart Undergraduate Awards

Support to attend Medieval Studies conference

Application Deadline: XXX, 5 p.m.

This award provides a stipend for undergraduate attendance at the International Congress on Medieval Studies, Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, May 12-15, 2016. The stipend will cover the cost of the conference registration fee and lodging. View information about the conference, including the full program, at https://wmich.edu/medievalcongress.   • A 1-2 page statement detailing your interest and experience in the study of the Middle Ages, and explaining how the conference will be of benefit to you.
  • A recent copy of your IU transcript.
  • The name and email address of an IU faculty member who has agreed to recommend you for this award.
Summer scholarships

This award provides summer scholarships for tuition for one 3- or 4-credit summer course that will be counted toward the MEST minor or certificate. To apply, send the following to Prof. Bridget Balint, associate director of MEST, bkbalint@indiana.edu

  • A 1-2 page statement that includes information about the course you plan to take, how it will further your study of the Middle Ages, and whether tuition will be paid as an Indiana resident or non-resident.
  • A recent copy of your IU transcript.
Senior Merit Award

This award provides $1,000 to an outstanding undergraduate MEST student, who has applied for graduation, and has a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5. To apply, send the following to Prof. Bridget Balint, associate director of MEST, bkbalint@indiana.edu

  • A brief summary of your academic achievements.
  • A recent copy of your IU transcript.
  • The name and email address of an IU faculty member who has agreed to recommend you for this award.

Applications for all Bosart awards are due on XXX. Awards will be announced later in April.

All undergraduate students are eligible to apply. It is not necessary to have a declared minor in Medieval Studies, although it will be taken into account when making the awards. Previous applicants are welcome to apply again.
